When the Spanish people colonized Peru, the kings shared the land and theirs inhabitants out as a reward for the Conquistadors’deeds.
Zana Valley was chosen by the settlers because of its location, for is fertile land and abundant water. Zana is full of history, customs, food, dance and religion which demonstrate the mixing up between African and Lambayeque culture.
The city of Lambayeque is another expression of the importance of the region at the time of the colony, which hides among its major buildings the balcony of the Colonial South America.
